Hey, gorgeous! ✨
Lately, I’ve been seeing a “Copper Hair Trend” going around social media. So I wanted to share a bit about my hair and how I’ve achieved it.
Let’s face it – hair is such an important part of many people’s appearance – it’s like an extension of our style and personality, giving hints about who we are.
Everyone’s hair journey is unique, but we can probably all agree on this: healthy, vibrant hair is the best kind of hair!
Personally, I haven’t always felt super confident about my hair. But things are finally changing – and discovering henna has been a game-changer! It’s helped my hair feel healthier, shinier, and more beautiful than ever.
What is henna?
Henna is a natural plant-based dye that comes from the leaves of the Lawsonia inermis plant. When ground into a fine powder and mixed with water, it releases a vibrant, reddish-brown pigment that’s been used for centuries to color hair, skin, and nails. Unlike synthetic dyes, henna not only adds rich color but also strengthens hair, promotes shine, and nourishes the scalp. It’s a beautiful way to embrace nature’s power for enhancing beauty!
Henna & Different Hair Colors
With natural henna powder, the primary color outcome is usually a reddish-brown to deep auburn shade, but the exact tone can vary based on your natural hair color, the henna quality, and how long you leave it on.
Curious about how henna might look on your hair? Here’s a quick breakdown on what to expect:
- Light hair (like blonde or light brown): Henna typically turns it a vibrant red to coppery orange.
- Medium to dark brown hair: Henna can create a rich auburn or deep red-brown, adding warm, earthy undertones.
- Black hair: Henna might not dramatically change the color but will add red highlights and a healthy, subtle sheen in the sunlight.
Since my natural hair color is light brown, henna gives me an amazing vibrant coppery red color with incredible shine!

I personally don’t use a specific brand for henna, I’ve just been buying whatever 100% Natural Henna Powder I’ve been able to find from supermarkets or health stores.
I mix the henna powder with hot water in a glass bowl, adding a bit of water gradually until I get a smooth yogurt-like consistency. I then cover the bowl and let it sit for 1 hour. Right before applying, I add a few big spoonfuls of oil to the mix (olive oil/ castor oil/ avocado oil etc). Then comes the fun part! Start putting this greenish-brownish “mud” all over the hair, starting from the roots. Once all the hair is saturated with the henna mix, cover with a plastic bag and let it sit for 1 hour. After the hour, I wash my hair with just water and dry with a towel that can get dirty (because it will!). And that’s it! 💖
So, if you’ve been seeing the “copper hair trend” all over the Internet and are thinking about trying it out, then hopefully this post has been helpful for you! In all honesty, I’m in love with my copper-red hair and I don’t see myself changing it anytime soon.
Here’s to beautiful, healthy hair!
Love and Blessings! 🌠🌠🌠
